Sunlight Realty is taking a leadership role in encouraging local businesses to become active in collecting food for those in need.
Sunlight Realty LLC in Wesley Chapel is leading the way in helping to feed those in need in the Central Pasco area.
Broker Sam Turgeon of Sunlight Realty, LLC and fellow Realtors, his wife Winifred Turgeon, and Brittany Miller have taken it upon themselves to become a collection point for the Atonement Lutheran Church Food Bank and to call local businesses and ask them to collect donations for the food bank as well.
The three colleagues brought canned goods and other food items to the church March 21 and discussed their plans to help bolster the church’s ministry by actively seeking donations and challenging others to do so as well.
Turgeon said he felt it was important for the realty to give back to the community. While Sunlight Realty employees operate as “Zero Pressure” real estate agents, getting food for the hungry is another matter. He and the other Realtors at Sunlight are spending a lot of time on the phones urging others to join the cause.
Why? Turgeon said he feels this is an issue everyone could help solve. “There’s more to life than just working,” he said.
Paul Weil, and Atonement Lutheran Church food bank volunteer said that Atonement Lutheran’s food ministry feed 200 to 250 families per week and how much they are able to give each family depends on the donations they receive.
“We really appreciate what you’re are doing to help the community, Weil told the Sunlight Realty trio. Turgeon said that they will continue.
